The updated Shoei J-Cruise 3 blends open face freedom with unmatched safety and comfort. Perfect for both urban cruising and even long touring.

The ventilation performance was improved by up to 70% compared to the J-Cruise 2. This adds a lot of comfort to the helmet, especially riding in cities during hot summer days. The integrated Shoei Comlink allows to combine the functionality of a communication system without disturbing the beautiful look of the helmet. It also reduces the noise created by clunky, big communication systems mounted to the outside of a helmet. Of course the helmet comes with the ECE 22.06 homologation to make it future proof.

Design

The J-Cruise 3 features a sporty and sophisticated shell design suitable for a premium touring openface helmet.

The three distinctive upper air intakes and top air outlet are designed to follow the shape of the shell design, which flows from the front to the rear, improving the sense of unity between the shell and the parts. The ribs on the shell around the visor bases are characteristic of the design, and it also contributes to impact absorbing performance. Compared to the previous model, the overall design of the helmet has been adjusted to create a sporty yet sophisticated design.

Interior

The fabric used on the interior surface is a hybrid between moisture-absorbent, quick-drying material and soft raised fabric. This provides optimum comfort when wearing the helmet and also when wearing/taking off the helmet. Moisture-absorbent and quick-drying material is used on areas that cover the upper part of cheeks and forehead where sweat tends to stick.

Soft raised fabric is used on the parts that are close to where the skin tends to rub against when the rider wears/removes the helmet. The same as the J-Cruise II, J-Cruise 3 also introduces leather-like material which has high durability on the bottom side of the cheek pad where can get dirty and damaged easier than other parts by rain or putting a helmet on a ground. 

The centerpad also features a pocket-system to make small adjustments to the fitting possible.

Visor System

CJ-2 visor offers a clear field of vision with a minimum distortion. Optimized design for open-face helmet. The rib at

the bottom edge of CJ-2 prevents wind coming into the helmet and increases rigidity which improves the handling of opening/closing the visor. Riding with slightly opened position in low speed effects the ventilation inside the helmet to remove fog on the visor. Easy and secure visor locking mechanism.

The visor tab on the lower left edge grips the hook by just closing the visor completely and prevents the visor accidentally opening.

The rider simply needs to push the left part of the visor outward to release the visor lock, and then open it. 

Airtight window beading prevents water and wind from entering the helmet. 

Inner Visor - QSV-2

The QSV-2 inner sun visor achieves high optical performance with minimum distortion, which is comparable to EN1836, European standard for sunglasses. The Anti-fog coating on QSV-2 prevents its fogging. The rider can switch the view instantly between sun

visor’s smoke and visor’s clear by one action, sliding up/down the lever. The mechanism for operating the sun visor uses

strong and durable wires, and guarantees smooth handling. PINLOCK® EVO lens which effects preventing the visor from fogging is available as an option. The lens helps to ensure a clear field of vision, even when riding in tough environments such as high humidity, cold or rainy weather.

Ventilation

The J-Cruise 3 features an enhanced ventilation performance by improving both performance of upper air intake and top air outlet

based on a study at SHOEI’s wind tunnel facility. The same 3 air intake holes as J-Cruise II, yet the amount of inflow is increased by placing the holes in the most effective positions as a result of wind tunnel test. The extra outlet hole is added for top air outlet, and it increases the amount of outflow by about 70%* compared to J-Cruise II.

Shoei COMLINK

Like the new NEOTEC3 and GT-Air, the J-Cruise 3 is also equipped with a mechanism for installing the exclusively designed communication system, which means J-Cruise 3 meets SHOEI COMLINK. The integrated communication system has become essential and a common accessory for a touring helmet. The compact mounting parts for the communication system improves the integration with the helmet design, and the helmet design is not compromised even when the communication system is not installed.

SENA® SRL3 is available as an exclusively designed communication system for J-Cruise 3.

Micro Ratchet Chin Strap

The new micro ratchet chinstrap is more compact and lightweight compared to the one used in the J-Cruise II and improves the feeling to the throat. The new micro ratchet buckle can be compacted with maximized safety because it is made from highly durable stainless steel.  

It locks with two claws when tightened and can be released only by raising the lever to a certain angle or more. Knitting high-strength, high-elasticity, and high-performance fiber into the chinstrap, it was possible to slim down while securing strength. Easy to fasten and release even with gloves on.

This Helmet is supplied with a Clear Visor as Standard.
